A Couple of Quick Tips...

A couple of quick tips...

For a great practice session with friends, try throwing a '501 game where you have to double-in with every turn. You'd be surprised how much your doubles improve and most of the time these aren't marathon games!

For 80 out, when you have to double out, there are a few ways to look at this. One way is to throw at the 20s, either high near the double-20 as (2) double 20s will win the game. Another way to look at this is to hit the triple-16, double-16. Both will take the game out with a double.

For electronic shooters with 80 left, if you throw at the bullseye and hit it, this leaves you with 30 left. You need (2) fat 15s to win the game or a double-15. Take advantage of the doubles as you want to win the game with as little darts as possible. Aiming for the double also keeps you away from the triple. I can't tell you how many times darters have lost their games because they have busted and lost their chance at the out. Go for it!

Lastly, just a reminder to always shake your opponent's hand after a match, whether you've won or lost. Nothing speaks louder than a handshake and this is the epitome of a good sport. Treat others the way that you want to be treated and a handshake does much to promote the sport and the people involved.

Till next time, shoot well and I'll see you at the line.
